Roomee Terms of Use

1. What Roomee is

Roomee is a platform that helps people in the Cayman Islands:

• Find rooms or whole places
• List rooms or whole places
• Find compatible housemates
• Join buddy-ups to rent a full place together
• Communicate safely through in-app messaging

Roomee is not a landlord, property manager, real estate agent, or housing provider. We don't own, operate, or manage any listings.

2. Who can use Roomee

You must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Create an account with accurate information
• Use Roomee for lawful purposes
• Follow these Terms and our policies

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.

3. Your account

You're responsible for:

• Keeping your login details secure
• All activity under your account
• Updating your information when it changes

If you think someone accessed your account without permission, contact us immediately.

4. Your content

You can post listings, photos, profile details, lifestyle signals, "room wanted" posts, buddy-up posts, and messages ("Your Content").

By posting Your Content, you grant Roomee a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and improving the platform.

You promise that:

• You own or have rights to the content you post
• Your content is accurate and lawful
• Your content doesn't infringe anyone's rights

We may remove content that violates these Terms or harms the community.

5. Listings and interactions

Roomee does not:

• Verify listings or guarantee accuracy
• Screen or endorse users
• Participate in rental agreements
• Handle deposits or payments (unless explicitly stated)

You're responsible for:

• Verifying listings
• Meeting people safely
• Making your own housing decisions
• Complying with Cayman laws

Use common sense and take precautions when meeting or renting.

6. Messaging and communication

Roomee provides secure in-app messaging so you can communicate safely before sharing personal details.

You agree not to use messaging to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse anyone
• Send spam or scams
• Request or send illegal content
• Bypass the platform for harmful purposes

We may monitor or review messages if required for safety, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

7. Payments (if applicable)

If Roomee offers paid features (e.g., Featured Ads), you agree to:

• Provide accurate payment information
• Authorize charges
• Understand that fees are non-refundable unless required by law

We use third-party payment processors and do not store full payment details.

8. Prohibited activities

You agree not to:

• Post false or misleading information
• Impersonate another person
• Scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the platform
• Upload viruses or harmful code
• Interfere with Roomee's systems
• Use Roomee for commercial purposes without permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Intellectual property

Roomee owns:

• The platform
• Branding
• Design
• Features
• Logos
• Content we create

You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of Roomee without permission.

10. Service changes

We may update, pause, or discontinue parts of Roomee at any time. We'll try to give notice when possible, but we're not required to.

11. Disclaimers

Roomee is provided "as is" and "as available."

We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy of listings or profiles
• Successful matches
• Availability of housing
• Uninterrupted service
• That users are who they say they are

You use Roomee at your own risk.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roomee is not liable for:

• Disputes between users
• Rental agreements or payments
• Damages resulting from using or not being able to use the platform
• Lost data, lost opportunities, or indirect losses

Your sole remedy is to stop using Roomee.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Roomee harmless from claims, damages, or losses arising from:

• Your use of the platform
• Your content
• Your interactions with other users
• Your violation of these Terms

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You harm the community
• We need to comply with legal obligations

You may delete your account at any time.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands.

Any disputes will be handled in Cayman courts unless otherwise required by law.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email.
